Health Screening Guidelines

Purpose
The Personal Wellness Profile (PWP) program is designed to improve the quality of your employee's life and reduce operating costs of your business. This is accomplished for the employee by evaluating their present health status and making suggestions for leading a longer, more productive, healthier life. This is accomplished for the employer by:

  • Identifying "high risk" employees within the workforce.
  • Working with employees and management to reduce high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, etc. This in turn will reduce health insurance costs, illnesses, absenteeism, workers' compensation claims, etc.

Confidentiality
The personal information that is shared will remain just that, personal. Employee confidentiality must be respected by both the employer and On-Site Health Solutions (OHS). All programs are HIPAA compliant.

Fitness Assessment (ON-SITE)
On the scheduled day of the fitness assessment, OHS will provide professional and medically trained staff to administer the fitness component of the health risk assessment. The fitness assessment includes: height, weight, blood pressure, body composition using Lange skin-fold calipers, 3 minute step test or 1 mile walk test for cardiovascular test, 1 minute timed crunches and sit-and-reach for flexibility. The fitness assessment will take 12-15 minutes per participant and comfortable workout clothing should be worn.

Standard Lipid Profile (ON-SITE)
The health risk appraisal will use Total Cholesterol, LDL "BAD" Cholesterol, HDL "GOOD" Cholesterol, Triglycerides and Glucose levels when calculating coronary risk factors. Blood draws are performed by trained medical professionals. We do not use a "Fingerstick" method to collect blood. The veinipuncture method is the preferred method of reliable results. If you go to your doctor they do not perform a "Fingerstick". We can order any blood profile to include PSA and TSH.

Employee Profiles
After the questionnaires, fitness assessment, and blood work are completed an individual employee profile is developed for all participants. Each employee will receive a 7-18 page profile which is mailed to their residence within one week. The profile includes: Wellness Summary, Fitness Profile, Nutrition Status, Safety Section, Stress Profile, Cancer Profile, Body Composition, Coronary Risk Profile and Health Age Appraisal in an easy to read non-scientific format.

Executive Summary Report & Corporate Report
The employer will receive a summary that details the overall health picture of the company. The report lists in order what the company's health objectives should be based on the employee's health profiles. A cost analysis is included in this report. It estimates the potential savings of an on-going wellness program based on modifiable lifestyle changes.

Wellness Benefit Plan Design
Ever wonder why some programs seem to have more participation? With over 15 years of experience, we can help you implement a creative program designed to increase participation. Our program is linked to employee benefits. If an employee chooses not to participate then they may pay a higher premium for health insurance. Example (If your company implements a wellness benefit that charges $10 per week more for non-participants than participants then our experience shows about an 80% participation rate.) Many of our clients use our wellness benefit plan design based on their company goals and objectives. Let us show you how to implement this creative benefit.

Incentive Program Design
OHS can design an incentive program that will reward positive lifestyle behaviors. Our incentive program is based on clinical data results. We use a point system that assigns a value to a clinical data value. The company sets a baseline for the point system. If employees achieve a certain level of points they receive an incentive bonus (Cash, Prizes, Reduced Insurance Premiums, etc...)
